Experimenting with Cards and Dominoes

Here is a page from my sketch book and I annotated and wrote about the experiment.

At the weekend I experimented with different methods of using dominoes and cards. I tried to create similar examples with the cards and dominoes I reserached into on youtube. Such as building the towers with dominoes. And building dominoes around the cards.

Here is some tester photos I took of me trying to display Dominoes in a different way with the cards involved.

I was testing to see whether me and Sophie could try another

approach to displaying our risk project. although this method did not work,

I pushed the domino and it knocked the others down with the cards as well ,

because the cards are not much taller and to close to the dominoes.

I wanted the end result to be with the dominoes falling down in a card tunnel then leading out to create a pattern. However this example will not be effective.

I looked onto youtube and I found a video of a tutorial showing how to stack up dominoes. I thought I would experiment with this idea, so I tried a similar example.

Looking at someone else's video they made little bridges with dominoes and the knocked down through the bridge, I really liked this idea and thought I would try to mix the idea with the building and building bridges.

It was difficult stacking the dominoes on this surface of floor so when coming to our project me and Sophie need to think about a smooth surface. Because the floor made the dominoes knock down before I had finished the train of dominoes it made my experiment hard to see it if was a effective or not. So the surface we build on could be a risk for our project so we need to think of this importantly. in reflection I think this idea would work well and maybe we could build little bridges around the tower of cards with a domino train. I will share my idea with Sophie see if it is agreeable.
