Editing

I have wrote a page about editing the footage in my sketch book:

The aim of Colerdige Lesson:

To import the editied version of tape 1 files from longroad final cut express laptop into final cut express at Coleridge computer then finish editing our video.

Problem: I edited tape 1 and wanted to import that edited version into final cut express at Colerdige, Then that would only of left me and Sophie to edit selections out from tape 2 and tidy them up.

But because the files that we transferred of the edited versionfrom my laptop at longroad did not import into the coleridge computer we were editing on, me and Sophie were then advised to just edit the 2nd tape of footage while waiting for the footage to be brought to us from longroad.

We selected the parts of the footage we wanted and it took atleast two hours, The our other footage was brough to us 3rd lesson so then we could import that then put the bit of footage together then be finished nearly. But final cut express had to be updated for the footage to be put in so we did this process however the footage me and Sophie spent two hours on was not updated because it was seperate project and then this could not open in final cut express. Then we tried working on another machine and carrying the tape 1 footage over on hard drive then to work on that project but media was offline and it would only connect some bits of footage. But me and Sophie had the correct files carried across to connect with final cut express so the problem was confusing.

So towards nearly forty minutes of the lesson we realized that it was not going to connect so me and Sophie split up and she created the soundtrack loop and I quickly had to edit bits together to craete at least some kinda of risk video.

It was dissapoiting because some of the footage I could not locate in the files or would not let me import in so that meant there was not as much camera work used in our video. There is some but it would have been nice to see the dominoes and cards falling drom different camera angles. There is some bits of footrage I found from tape 1 and 2 and editied together and they are in the finish video wheere the camera cuts sofly to a different camera angle but I was aiming to have more. Alos me and Sophie just choose type writing title and normal title which could of been more effective and artistic however we thought the video more important putting together than decorating it with little effctes.

In reflection I think that the final video looks effective and how I wanted it just needed more camera shots and more editing done to it, however I think it has captured risk in our experimental ways using dominoes and cards.
Here are some print screens I took when editing the footage on final cut express.
